VARIOUS PERSONNALITIES AT THE START

Dear riders,

On August 24 and 25, you are participating in the Škoda 24 Hours Cycling on the Le Mans circuit (France). Discover now the event’s programme and the entry list ! While you wait for the “Practical Info ” email  that will be sent out soon, we would like to remind you that reading the race rules  is mandatory. In order to improve traffic flow in the camping area, there will be no additional vehicle access sales on site. However, free parking will be available.

Pierre Rolland, professional cyclist from 2007 to 2022, will lower the French flag to give the start to the riders on track. Throughout his career, the Frenchman took part in thirteen Tours de France, four Tours of Spain and two Tours of Italy. His track record includes multiple stage victories, including the Alpe d‘Huez in 2011, which had not happened in 25 years for a French cyclist.
More personalities will tag along, including Yvon Bertin, professional cyclist from 1975 to 1982 and Bernard Hinault’s former teammate, who will ride in a team of four. Frédéric Bessy, a pro rider from 1995 to 2007 and stage winner in the 2001 Tour de France, will participate for fun in a team of six named Amis du Beaujolais. Cyril Lemoine, a professional cyclist from 2005 to 2022 with the Sojasun and Cofidis teams, will be riding in a team of 6, among friends. Mohammed Serboutimulti-medallist in the French half-marathon and 10 km championships, will be taking part with the radio France Bleu Maine team, alongside journalists and listeners. Finally, the event’s patron, Roger Legeay, a pro rider from 1973 to 1982 and former sports director, will participate with his granddaughters in a mixed team of six called Mes Pitchouns.

After their 2023 win Team S1neo Fastwan will be challenging again for the overall title. Team Manager Johanny Delmas comments : ”  Our goal is the same as in 2023, to combine leisure and performance… and maybe win the scratch for a fifth time ». The Shake a Good Ride team, 5th in 2023, is used to the top 10. Entering this year under the name Blue Ice Vélo Saintes 17, these two teams of four are among the outsiders.
In the women’s ranking, the Macif team returns to defend its title after their victory in 2023. The MSV team led by Maureen Buon is one of the outsiders to watch out for.

Entry is free for visitors. As in 2023, the parking lot will be accessible from Panorama Avenue (“Parking Rouge”) with pedestrian via Entrée Panorama. The full event programme is available down below.

La Matinale Le Maine-Libre-La Sarthe, a one-hour family stroll, will take place on Saturday august 24, from 10:30 am to 11:30. During that time, young and old alike can discover the Bugatti circuit in a calm rhythm. We remind you that wearing a helmet is mandatory and the speed limit is set to 30km/h.
